You should definitely consider the Bridgestone RE-71. I put them on my
84 733i and have been extremely pleased. They have incredible dry and
wet perfermance. However, I live in Los Angeles, so I am not concerned
with extreme cold or snow performance. But, seeing as how your address
indicates you are in San Francisco, I doubt that you see much snow
either.
I bought mine as part of a tire/wheel package from the Tire Rack, which
was very convenient because they come pre-mounted and balanced, so all
you have to do is jack up your car, remove the old wheels, and torque
the new ones. Any of the national auto magazines (Road&Track, etc...)
should have a multi-page advertisement from the Tire Rack which shows
numerous wheel styles, tires, and prices.
Good Luck,
