OFFICE MEMO Zebra Clay Date:11/21/94
I tried a product called Zebra Clay this weekend and found very good results
for what I wanted. My car had some overspray that appeared like metal
shavings. They were tiny specks that rusted and covered the top of the car.
It was more than paint overspray, as you could feel the roughness of the
paint.
I tried unsuccessfully to use wax, polishes, and fine/medium cleaners. This
clay stuff removed the specks without too much effort. It is a chunk of clay
that you rub over the surface while it is still wet or soapy. Afterwards, it
requires a new coat of wax.
The product claims to be gentle, but I would assume that it is somewhat
abrasive as it may be equivalent to a fine sandpaper. It didn't leave any
marks or swirls on the paint, though. Does anyone know how this stuff works
or how abrasive it is? I don't think it's too be used regularly, but it
worked great for this case.
It was about $30 from Eurasian auto parts and would appear to last many
applications.
