Does anyone know the exact size socket that would be needed to remove the
bolt behind the steering wheel (the rather large one). I need to remove
the front part of the steering column to be able to get the dash peice
off of the top of the turn signal. I think I have figured out what the
problem with my turn signals not working properly was. Seems that after
years of signaling the contacts that the stem touches to make the signals
go have worn down. So if I can get the switch out of there I can put a
littke bit of solder on them to build them out enough so that I won't
have to be pulling back on the stem in order to make a good connection.
I should proably add that this is a '73 2002 tii, that should help. :)
On a seperate topic: Today I failed the MA state inspection because the
inspector said that my right headlight was too dim, and my left headlight
was upside-down. This seems rather odd to me because if it was
upside-down I would expect the contacts to also be upside-down, but they
are the same as the other light (ground on top). Is this guy out to lunch
or something, or is it possible? (he also said my hazard lights didn't
work, but I tried them right after and had no problem, same with the wipers)
