Fuel, carbs and speedo's

To the 2000cs owner, get 40mm Webers, the other 40mm carbs are good, but
Weber parts are much more available and just as tuneable. Unless you trick
out the motor stay with 40mm with 32-34mm venturis(chokes). Mukini's are nice
but jets, etc aren't usely found. The factory solexes are junk because of the
poor design of throttle shafts and poor adjustablility.
Unleaded fuel seems to be fine with my built 2002ti motor. I need premi
um for its octane but haven't had any valve / seat problems. I also
religiously use a product called DurAlt fuel conditioner. It helps with
detonation/ octane problems and my motor seems more sensitive to slight
throttle changes with it. Its cheap because you only use 1oz to 12 gallons of
gas.
The speedo won't change with the 5speed changeover. Just adjust for the
differential ratio change. 3.90 will be fine for most situations, 4.11 if you
really like hard acceleration and slightly less top end( I still haven't
redlined in 5th, could in 4th before my changeover) but slightly busier
cruising 3500 = 70mph. that's ok with my Schrick 290 and 45 DCOES. Don't try
stock 3.64's, 5th will drop below torque curve and you'll end up downshifting
for any quick passing.
To those of you will be getting the new Zundfolge, wait till you see the
cover!!
