re: service indicator lights problem. Yes you can do the repair cheaper
by removing instrument cluster, then service indicator board and
replacing the batteries (available from Radio Shack). Contact Michael
Coates at BMW Car Club of Canada 416-733 8810 to get copy of article on
exact procedure. Apparently takes about 3 hours (the first time) plus
cost of two batteries!!!
