I have an '84 318i w/ 155k on it.  The driver's seat springs are 
broken but otherwise it's a great car.  Although it's a bit 
underpowered, I can still get her up to 110 mph on the Amish Highway on 
the way to work <g>.  It's probably a good thing that it is 
underpowered or I'd likely kill myself in it.  I got a great 
deal...only paid $1000 for her.  Parts are the killer.  Like an idiot, 
I paid $95 for a set of spark plug wires at NAPA.
