The best value in shopping pointers I'm aware of is the book "BMW Buyers
Guide" (or maybe the title starts with "Illustrated") by Ken Gross. You
can order it by calling Classic Motorbooks at 800 826-6600 in Wisconsin.
This book covers all BMW models and provides some fairly objective
evaluations.
The next best thing to do is take along a knowledgeable BMW-owner friend.
