Hi all,
I have a '75 530i which is still going strong after 206K miles. Recently,
I've noticed a faint gas smell coming from the trunk area. The smell has
gotten worse with time (haven't been driving it much lately) and yesterday
the engine has been "missing" as if it weren't getting enough gas.
It seems like a fuel pump problem to me, but (speaking as one who works
primarily on US cars) just how easy or hard is it to replace it? How much
would a new fuel pump run? etc...
