[bmw] Alarm remote reprogaming?

I have replaced the battery in the fob remote for a 1996 E34.
The unit was not really made to have the batteries replaced
but intended to be "disposable" I think as the battery was soldered in.

Now it wont work?

There is a site here in the UK selling replacement
units at 40GBP but even they need programing in
some way.

Anbybody know a www site with programing info please?
As thats probably all that needed.
