[bmw] Electrical gremlin
Ian,
Don't know if this is it, but I've had a few electrical gremlins in my
car. Two times, it was the battery (and each of those times I'd
eliminated it as a source of the problem as it 'seemed' to be putting
out voltage).
Anyway, all your problems are electrical of some sort, and the battery
would be the first that I'd check. BTW, I was told that just because
you have a 'green' light on your battery, that it doesn't mean it's
really okay--that the indicator is connected to just one of the battery
cells not all of them. Check the voltage if you've got a
multimeter...or have someone else do it.
Remember, this advise is from a non-mechanic--be warned! <grin> Oh, I
don't know the wiring on yours, but the third time on mine it was the
'comfort relay'--if it's not the battery for you, check the wiring
diagrams to see if you can find common source of most of your problems.
Still, I'm betting on your battery.
Good luck with this one!
