[bmw] 1994 318i misfiring...bad coil pack?

Hi All,

I have a 1994 318i that has had a hesitation problem
for awhile. When warm and under full throttle, it
would hesistate and buck briefly, then run up to
redline smoothly. Then recently I drove up a mountain
with four people and it felt really down on power. I
had to keep my foot on the floor all the way up. No
hesistation or bucking though. When we parked I
smelled ozone (smells like a lightning storm), like
overheated electronics or a short in the plug wires. I
lifted the hood and the smell was strong.

I installed new OEM plug wires (never been changed at
132K) and new OEM plugs thinking it might cure this
problem.

Now the car runs on three cylinders ALL THE TIME! I
put the old wires and plugs back on...no difference.
Yes, I double checked the order of the plug wires. My
best guess is a fried coil pack...any others? How
would replacing wires/plugs cause that? Where is the
best place to get a coil pack? I've heard these are
big bucks. Thanks for any help.
