RE: alternator rebuild parts
The brushes and regulator should come as a package.
I'm not 100% sure but all three of my E28's and an 84 325e are like this.
Most auto parts stores carry the regulator for around $18.00 Cdn.; this has
the brushes built in.
You shouldn't even have to take out the Alternator to do the repair.
The Regulator / Brush assembly is held to the back of the alternator with 2
small screws, and can often be removed and replaced with the alternator in
the car.

Subject: alternator rebuild parts
Hello,
I have a 1984 533i with a bad alternator and am planning on a budget
rebuild of the alternator myself. Does anybody know where I find new
rebuild parts mailorder? ie brushes and regulator? Has anybody done
this before??? Any hints or suggestions??
Thanks,
Entropyracer
