Hi,
I am new to this list (old to alfa digest).
My AC was recently recharged due to what I and mechanic thought was low
refrigerant manifested in no cold air when ac activated and fogging
windows when defroster and AC were on.
AC was fine when I picked the car up from mechanic, then AC started
doing the same again. Thought we had a leak so I brought the car back.
Mechanic checked it all out and again, AC blowing cold no leaks. He
had put a dye in the system to show if there were leaks.
Tried it again two weeks later after sitting for nearly the same length
of time and no cold AC. The compressor is engaging and I get
intermitent spurts of cool air.
Any ideas or suggestions on what this could be?
I know of issues with pre 99' 3's but is there a similar issue with the
later cars? I understand that failure mode is partly related to ambiant
temps, high one that is. I am in NYC area and we have had high 90's
through the past week.
Thanks in advance,
Antonio
