[alfa] Kudos (was Orchids) toJon Norman

I'll readily admit I do like perusing a catalog and knowing the retail
price before hand, but do very much appreciate Jon and Ruth's efforts
and the quality of their merchandise.

Not unusual for a client to get all weird when he receives his first
restoration estimate from BR. This means cutting corners which means
either I or the client lives to regret it - generally the both of us.

A few weeks ago I ordered two slave cylinders and a '69 clutch MC from
Alfa Parts. A '69 Spider client just emailed to say not to get a clutch
MC for his Spider since he'd just found one for Considerably cheaper
then my estimate. I don't take kindly to clients providing parts unless
it is very difficult to find used parts (let them live on eBay, I don't
have the time nor the desire). Since my estimate to him for the clutch
MC was $7 over my cost, not including shipping, let him buy the piece of
crap and then live with it.

Except for my piggy bank, I've never regretted buying the quality parts
Jon and Ruth offer.

That said, I do buy a number of quality items from other Alfa parts
suppliers.

Let's be candid, if all the Alfa parts suppliers in the world suddenly
closed their doors, our increasingly aging babies would become Red Rust
in a matter of months.

hundred? No, dollars.)
