[alfa] RE : Victory by Design / Alain de Cadenet

de Cadenet has plenty of credentials to drive these cars fast :

- he's been racing professionally since '65
- he's listed 2nd in all time number LeMans partictipations -
          16 times
- after Brabham's retirement in '70, de Cadenet took control of
his F1 team running BT33's. Alain was Graham Hill's boss
          in the '73 F1 season !
- in '68 he raced Ferrari Dino 206's
- in '70 he raced Porsche 908/2's and McLaren M8C's
- in '71 he raced a Ferrari 512LM at LeMans for Ecurie
          Francorchamps of Belgium
-from the mid 70's to early 80's he raced his own garage built FIA
          car with notable success :
          '76 - 3rd overall at LeMans
          '77 - 5th overall at LeMans
          '80 - 1st at Monza and Silverstone !
- in '82 he raced the Group C Ford C100

these are only his most notable acheivements that i know of
( if any of this is wrong . . . sorry ). he is currently a highly active
vintage sports car racer and a vintage motorcycle & airplane enthusiast. while he may not be Fangio, i am in no position
to criticize his skills.

i can see how he can be pushing these classics hard while
the camera car seems to be following effortlessly. remember
that Grassroots Motorsports obtained better autocross lap times
from a Honda Oddysey minivan ( ! ) compared to a Jaguar E-type
or Porsche ( 356 ? ) with original tires. the Audi camera car
should be much faster than that even !

now, if only i had a DVD player and good sound system . . .
