The belt was changed only 10,000k's ago and it wouldn't surprise me if it
was never right to begin with as it has always been a bit shaky at idle. The
bearings were also replaced as one had failed, which is why the belt was
also done. The engine is dirty rather than covered in oil which is why I
wanted to clean it. I'm a sucker for a clean car.
I am concerned about the rubber in the harmonic balancer because it has
swollen in two places.
What do you mean about the cam seals. Why should I replace them if I use the
cam dies. I am under the impression that the dies just bolt on where the
bearing caps go.
