I've been told that the "haze" is actually a fungus destroying the glue
that holds the laminations together in the safety glass -- don't know

it's true or not.
The hazing on the edges of my 78 Spider's windshield has not really
progressed noticeably in the past 9 years or so. I tend to believe it
is due to the oxidization of the plastic layer sandwiched in the glass.
