[alfa] 164L tensioner failure followup question

hi all,

still trying to get to the bottom of why my mech'l t-belt tensioner failed.  when it failed, the car was in neutral, w/e-brake set.  the wife (one of the kids?) had left an interior light on, & killed the battery,  she went to start it, & only heard that "ggrrr" noise that ya hear when there's not enuff juice to turn anyting over.  when i got home, i duplicated her efforts, then put a charger on it & tried a few hours later.  when it started, the walves were clacking against the pistons.  the wife confirmed the car was *not* making this noise when she parked it.  any clues?
