[alfa] Frozen clutch on 'new' '69 Spider

Okay old news, but an update. Thanks to use guys, especially Jeff
Greenfield's step-by-step procedure, client' clutch plate has been
unstuck.

True, had to replace all brake calipers first since they were all also
stuck. Even the most determined of you masochists out there would not
have wanted to rebuild them.

They bled pretty well, without outside help.

Replaced frozen clutch slave cylinder with NLA (No Longer Available)
shorter with adjustable push rod cylinder with 'modern' 3/8" longer one
with non-adjustable push rod.

Bled.

Nada.

Replaced clutch master cylinder.

Bled. Better, but no cigar.

Replaced new one piece push rod on slave cylinder with original
adjustable one.

Much better.

Could now put in some of the gears very carefully with engine running.
With JG's instructions and with car (as it had been all this time) on
jack stands, put it in 3rd gear, revved with toe on brake and heel on
accelerator. Nope. Same with 4th. Nope. Same with 5th. Huge shudder
throughout the car, then she suddenly settled down down to a nice steady
lope whilst still in gear. Shifted like a dream.

Alors! What had been stuck, is now unstuck.

True, the low fuel pressure light has been glowing quite brightly all
this time and after taking her down off her perches, backing out of
shop, it was obvious she meant what she was saying all along. Barely
made it back in.

Sigh.
