Jerry in Houston wrote in AD V9 #1066:
"The Skoda Octavia has also been campaigned by the factory in the World
Rally Championships, but being quite a bit larger than the Peugeot
206's, Subaru WRC's. etc.... it has not been very successful. The word
is that they have a new model coming to the WRC more like the 206 and
may be more competitive."
Their new car, the Fabia debuted on the Rally Deutschland last July. It
wasn't completive due to lack of development, and didn't show any
competitiveness for the rest of 2003. Because of this Skoda announced a
scaled down program for the 2004 WRC (which prolly also means it's the
end of Didier Auriol's career). Too bad, it was a good looking piece of
kit.
