[alfa] Russian Steel

Regarding the notes on Eastern European cars, when I
grew up (Norway) there were the Volga and Moscovitch
from Russia, the Trabant, the Skoda and the Wartburg
from Eastern Europe, as well as the low-cost DKW from
West Germany. None of the them lasted very long (I
knew people who had them) except the Volgas that were
used mostly as taxis, but otherwise seemed fairly
ancient. After that followed the period with Ladas,
etc. that were basically all Fiats. And, in the early
70s, a friend of mine had an Alfasud, which rusted
profusely. Eventually most of the metal was replaced
or held together by rust-treatment.
