[alfa] RE: Spider problem

Your thermostat may not be letting the water get hot enough
to satisfy the computer and it may be assuming the engine is
still in the warmup phase needing a richer mixture. It's also
possible the temp sensor is bad producing the same result.
Here's a temporary solution to get around your immediate
problem, however I'm disowning any responsibility.
Just before enterring the inspection station, block off most
of the radiator with cardboard until the temp gage reads a few notches higher. Loosen the radiator cap to prevent pressure
from developing; if the fluid boils, it will get rid of heat
faster. Watch the gage and don't overdo it as you could warp the head!

Failed emissions (again) '84 Bosh Ljet spider......

In order to spare myself some frozen knuckles, I'd thought I'd ask for some advise first:

HC 844 of 220
CO .59 of 1.2

Sounds super rich (?) the O2 sensor is about 4 years old, the cat about 2.

Any hints?
