Assuming your GTV6 is similar to my Alfetta GT in this area, I've been told 
by some reliable Alfetta owner/mechanics that the cowl vents rust and 
perforate. This leads to water ingress to the cabin in my car. It often pours out the 
vent openings, usually at the worst possible moment.

The fix is to pull the windshield and rebuild and seal the area.
