[alfa] Re: alfa-digest V9 #1042

I have an 84 Spider, enlarged intake and exhaust ports, headers, and a
modified cam, and engine head milled to increase compression, and I cannot run
anything less than 93 or 94 octane. Here in New Jersey, octanes up to 94 are
available.

I have no idea why California, and states out west and Canada only go up
to 91-92 octane, is it some sort of pollution control? New Jersey seems
pretty pollution-conscious, and i am afraid that if we here ever adopt
California-type gasoline regs, I won't be able to drive my Spider

Anyone out there know: 1. What are the chances of this happening in
NJ?, and: 2. What do I do to my Spider if this happens?

    Thanks.
