From memory 36000 miles was the suggested interval for a timing belt change
in the UK for a 12V V6 engined car (and rarely if ever did people change
the
water pumps at the same time). Think the 24V engine had a somewhat longer
change interval. The flat fours ended their lives with a 48000 mile
recommended
change interval. The 16V TS engine had a recommended change interval of
72000 miles, although the tensioners often failed and took the belt out
before that.
