We still have a good network of independent shops.  So long as we spend the money required to do the needed work, the cars stay in excellent condition and we keep them in business.  

The overall satisfaction and savings over a new car still makes it all worthwhile.   

Why will people willingly shell out huge monthly car payments without a thought but nickel and dime the local independent Alfa mechanic.   A nice Alfa daily driver is an absolute bargain if you do the math.

In fact, in a 1997 European Car article, the Milano was listed as the best bargain of used daily drivers.   I have to agree.
