RE: [alfa] 91 spider Heater Core

Tony -

Heater cores seldom fail in the spiders.

Most likely there is a coolant leak elsewhere. Check all the hoses, clamps,
expansion bottle and radiator under the hood first. It is possible that
there is a leak under the hood, and the vapors are being drawn into the car
through the ventilation system.

Pressure test the system to see if any leaks are present, if there is no
visual evidence.

If everything is ok under the hood, then I'd look at the heater valve.

Refer to the recent thread regarding replacing the heater valve in the
series 4 cars.

HTH,

Jeff

Subject: [alfa] 91 spider Heater Core

Now that im using my heater in my 91 Spider, I smelled some coolant in the
car and was wondering if anyone out there ever replaced a heater core on the
91
Spider? How tough is it?
Thanks, Tony
