[alfa] Oil light...

Well, the Alfa Gods are laughing at me, or at least snickering smugly...I
found the source of my oil light problem, today. There is indeed a
switch, on the exhaust side, hidden under the very hot manifolds. There
was also a wire there, and when I put the wire back onto the switch, my
oil light stays out! (That is, it works correctly...on until the engine
catches, then it goes out, just as it should.) I think the wire was
grounding against the block and causing it to light when I was warming
up the car, then as I got moving, the vibration and air movement caused
the wire to make intermittent contact and light the light at odd times.
Then as I pulled to a stop, wire touches block again and lights up light.
Classic case of misinterpreting data points. The reason I think the Alfa
Gods are enjoying this is that I tried for probably two weeks to solve
this on my own, but they waited until I posted here to reveal my faulty
logic to me THAT VERY SAME DAY! Oh well, I can take a joke. Super's
engine is looking much smaller and cleaner now...down to a block with
pistons and mains, water pump and not much else. Can't wait to see what
the bearings look like.
Remember, this is a hobby, and as such, should bring us pleasure and
amusement. Have fun today! Cheers,
