Subject: [alfa] Peculiar OZ Alfa light brackets for Alfetta's

Just received an email asking, "Do the Cibie replacement headlamps shown on
your site have the same peculiar mounting found in my (Australian
delivery) 1984 Alfetta GTV?"

I know this came up recently, but can't think why the headlamp mounting
rings would be unique for Australia.

Could someone from 'down there' explain what doesn't fit, do the notches for
the headlamp cast 'bumps' not line up? Or what?

------------------------------
As the sender of the e-mail to which Biba is referring I can explain the
reason for my question. Both the inside headlamp units in my Alfetta
require some attention - they are Carello units with the seating 'dowel'
which I understood is unique to this brand.

This page http://www.alfaclub.org.au/philstorr/alfatech/switch/sshl.htm has
a description of one alternative to buying new Carello units - I have also
heard of other owners getting their headlights disassembled and the
reflector refurbished. The information that Biba had on Cibie headlights
for Alfas sounded promising - hence the e-mail.

If anyone can provide more information on this issue I'd be grateful.
