[alfa] Re: Wheel Bolt Patterns

Tom Faust asks For how many years were Spiders 4 X 108mm ? A simple answer is thirty-eight years, but a catch is that Alfa used that bolt circle for thirty-nine years, starting a year before the Giulieta Spider was introduced.

Andy Kress gave a simpler answer: all of them. That is true enough if talking only about 750, 101, 105 and 115 Spiders, but the term was used in a generic sense from the beginning, and has also been used as a proper model name for the 916 Spider since 1994. One could argue whether the 916 is or is not a real Alfa, but its 5 x 98 mm bolt circle certainly lies outside the all of them" category.

Quibble, quibble. Enjoy yours,
