[alfa] euro manifold question

On my european Weber manifold that I'm bolting up to a 1974 2000GTV engine
there's a small tube emerging from the no1 cylinder front side - faces the
front of the car. It seems to have <1mm bore. It's in the parts book as an
"adapter" (raccordo). No doubt a little vaccuum tube is meant to fit onto it -
but where is it supposed to go to? 

Probably to some other piece of emissions control eqpt that I don't have on my
'67 GTV - but which?
