I fully understand someone wanting to make a rather tired Alfa look at
least somewhat better for a 'reasonable' price.
But don'tcha realize this is the first thing people see when viewing
your chosen car and whether you give a big rat's-ass or not, if you're a
cheap sum-bitch on a car you profess to love and care for, someone close
to you might well wonder how you deal with the rest of the things in
your life you profess to love and care for?
That is fine and wonderful when you have a lot of disposable income.
When you don't, you do the best you can.

I've seen women bitch as to how much their significant others spent on
their car. I've also frequently seen women walk away from frugal cheap
asses. Because of your cheap paint job? Not necessarily, but because of
your overall Cut-Corners philosophy of life.
If that's the case, do you really want to with someone who only cares
about how much money you have, or don't have?

Alfas will always be second rate - or third, fourth, or fifth rated cars
as long as owners treat them as they would their underwear - "Oh gosh,
good for another ten washings probably more."
Early and later Porsches are considered jewels. Early and later Alfas
are considered has been's. Look inwardly, not to the Sports Car Market.
I know that there is only so much time and money I can devote to my car.
So I concentrate that time and money on making it run well. Exterior
cosmetics are not the most important thing to me. If I have time and money
after I take of the car mechanically, then I put some into the cosmetics.
I rather spend the time driving my car than obsessing over the little bit
of orange peel that was left on the underside of the bumper that I only
see when I am under the car changing the oil.
