[alfa] Re: That crank pulley issue and poly bushing lube
Better to read the facts than to rely on here-say. To enlighten yourself
on these issues, visit your local industrial-hydraulic-bearing supply
store counter and help yourself to the free Loctite (NFI) product
information or visit them on line at www.loctite.com . I use: 242 Blue
(medium strength) for most fasteners including things like crank pulley
nuts, 243 Blue (oil tolerant, medium strength, Honda recommended) for the
V6 mechanical belt tensioner stud, 290 Green (medium + strength, AR
required) for flywheel bolts, 545 Red hydraulic/pnuematic thread sealant
on brake and power steering line and threaded coolant connections,
acetone to clean all the above prior to application, C5-A copper
anti-seize for low temp (<1800 degree F) applications including poly
bushings, threads into aluminum, suspension joints etc, and Nickel
anti-seize (<2400 degree F) for exhaust system fasteners. It sounds a bit
much but all are readily available in small quantities from your local
auto supply store. IMHO takes more than a set of wrenches to fix it
right.
