Wondering if anyone out there has a parts book, or info on a part number
for a starter drive?
Situation is, my earlier rebuilt engine has the 130 tooth ring gear.
The later, 77 starter is assumably for the 131 tooth gear.
I have been told by Those Who (should) Know, that either way is a
problem if you don't match up, though I would guess going from the
smaller diameter starter (for the bigger 131 gear) might be less of a
problem than going the other way.
I'm told the latest "gear reduction" starters fit well on the old 130
tooth gears.
Now, I was at a car show this weekend, and a guy had a huge pile of
recambi originale, but couldn't tell me about the starter gear drive I
bought for $5.. hoping it might be the different size as well as hoping
that they are exchangeable..
Can anyone tell me about this part, probably Bosch, though might be an
Alfa number?
1 006 209 506 Also has 265 away from the first number, probably a
manuf code, and "Made in Germany" on the part. It has nine teeth.
Anything that anyone else can shed on my situation, I'd appriciate
it.. Or, got a late starter to sell/trade for an earlier one?
Thanks..
