[alfa] Re:test a heater valve?

Sorry about that sip of the key...I have a spare, low mileage heater core and 
blower. The blower that is in my car works on one speed and I'm sure the 
heater valve is shot because the heater no longer dispenses warm air. Is there a 
test I can perform on my spare heater valve or should I just get a new one? Is 
there any check I should perform on the core and blower while they're out?
