As long as the replacement diff is from a Spider or GTV, the ratio should be
the same (4.56 : 1).

Berlinas, and later spiders starting in '82 (coinciding with Bosch EFI) had
4.10 : 1 rear ends to the best of my knowledge.

I am about to replace the axle in my '78 Spider with one that I just
noticed is marked as being from a '74.  Is there a difference in the
gear ratios between these two years?
