[alfa] polyurethane for Spider

Young Mr. Robrock asked about poly bushings;

Karl,

I can't really find a negative to poly for Alfas. I like the PowerFlex line
and sell it because I perceive it to be a premium product. It has stainless
steel inserts, the design has always been split, and poly is, in my
opinion, a great material for suspensions. Durometer ratings vary depending
on application as well. Oil resistant, no joke, it's a big deal in Alfas.
Rear trailing arm bushes go bad and make the car "crab" under power. Not
pleasant.

The trailing arm kit is nice as the side washers are built into the
bushing. Simple 2 piece design. i am planning to do some articles for the
mags on install, but it's the barbecue for me. High intense heat all around
the bushing for a shorter period and the rubber pops out. Much faster and
less clean up. Trailing arms are just alot of grunt work. I'll be happy to
assist on these installs for the PowerFlex, it's not really too bad.
Results make the scuffed knuckles fade quickly. :) Soft poly bushings
should not lessen the driving experience, but improve it. Not harsh either.
