And... has anyone repaired an inoperative automatic antenna?.
Yes, I have recuperated a couple. If you dismount the antenna and
disassemble it, you may find that all that is needed is cleaning and
relubing. On the other hand, you may find rust, broken plastic or a
broken cable (the wire which raises and lowers the antenna). It's worth
a try. Don't forget to clean the contact area for the ground strap
before you put it back.
