Karl,
	Oh, so near, yet so far!

	This is just another Alfa engineer's jape to permit you to think you
can gain access to the blower motor easily only to find your path
blocked.  You have to remove the fan/heater core housing from the car
which involves removing the entire dash.  On the early model Spiders
this isn't hard but on the later models (80's and onward) it is a 4 hour
job; a tedious job but with lots of little parts.  Don't wait too long
before reassembling otherwise you'll forget what goes where.

	If you get a new fan motor, they do not come with the two rubber
mounting 'units' so do not cut your old ones up to get the fan motor
out.  And drill a hole or two in the bottom of the plastic fan housing. 
This is to drain any water that might find its way inside - usually from
the air intake body drains clogging and overflowing into the fan housing.

	But this gives you perfect opportunity to clean up all the electrical
connections you'll find under the dash, find valuable coins, forgotten
traffic citations, and your long lost flashlight.
