[alfa] Re: Camless VVT
I sense some peppering of the target going on here. Funnily enough, the top
versions of the new GM based Alfa engine will be camshaft free I am given to
understand. I don't know the method of actuation, but its got to be either
solenoid or pneumatic. I just hope it works a little longer than Selespeed
gearboxes tend to. Can't figure out why Alfa go for complication before they
can get the simple things right sometimes.
On a different note the engine has run, albeit briefly, on my 164 24v at long
last ! I can claim zero credit for this, but it has cheered me up a bit as I
was getting despondent about the whole shebang. Apparently they put the 'new'
engine in (new belts tensioner/water pump)r connected it up and turned the
key, and after about 20 seconds it fired to their amazement and mine when I
heard. Now to get the exhaust done!
Turning to the "cat amongst pigeons dept " a Swedish report has just suggested
that reserves of fossil fuels have been overestimated by as much as 80%.
Hmmmmmm. Have Alfa ever done pedal cycles?
