     The heat shield on the Bosch spiders is just plain aluminum with no insulation.  Or the one on my 84 race car has no insulation.  I cannot remember if it came that way or if the insulation fell off.
     In any case, a simple sheet of aluminum with an air gap between it and the floor will lower the temperatures nicely.  It would be rather easy to fabricate.
