[alfa] Berlinas, BWAs & Tires

This is probably only of interest to Berlina owners with or considering putting BWA Sportstars on their car. I just put a set of new 195s mounted on the BWAs on my Berlina. The concern is that the wider offset of the BWAs would cause the rear tires to rub on the wheel well. The clearance is pretty tight back there.

With the 195s mounted (I went with Toyos as Les Schwab had them on sale) I took the car out and tossed it around a bit to try to induce any rubbing. It was fine. Of course when I packed up the car with luggage, supplies, my girlfriend and another friend to head out to our river cabin the tries began to rub around semi-tight corners.

The point of this story is that I'm going to have 185s installed. They are a bit more 'correct' anyway. So if you have BWAs I would suggest going with 185s instead of 195s (although you may be able to get away with them).

Other than that the BWAs are great on a Berlina.
