[alfa] Re: keyrings

I had an issue with a new key jammed in an Alfetta ign lock about 14 years
ago. The locksmith (who turned out to be a car nut) commented that original
Alfa keys rarely wore out, but that they were of exceptional quality and
hardness and usually wore out the lock pins first. He reminded me to only
have the essentials on the keyring. He also commented that he charged extra
to cut an original Alfa key blank as they would effectively destroy, or at
least significantly shorten the useful life, of a key grinding wheel.

As luck would have it I found a new set of carefully hidden car keys wired
under the car a week after I paid the locksmith his $100.00 roadside callout
fee to cut me a new 'soft' key !
