Hi Larry:

Alfa camshafts have bearings, as do all, but rather than having removable/replaceable bearing shells, the camshaft rides in the bearing surfaces machined into the cylinder head. Also, all camshafts turn at 1/2 crankshaft (engine) speed, as each cylinder fires every other revolution of the crankshaft.
