RE: [alfa] Oil Separator

Since I partly bear the responsibility for thousands of Spider oil separators being cleaned across the country in the last two weeks, I guess I should tell you that I eventually got around to cleaning mine (91 Spider). It was as clean a baby's backside. I polluted the environment with a can of carb cleaner and the fluid came out a little brown. No gobs of gunk. Nada.
I guess I am living a clean and pure life.
Many thanks to all who contributed.

All this talk about the vapor separator prompted me to clean mine. It
was totally clogged. I used solvent degreaser and like Jon, I just
squirted the solvent in every hole and swished it around until it ran
clear. In all it took a good hour to get it done. I ended up replacing
the hose from the bottom to the dip stick port as it had become dry
rotted and cracked.
