[alfa] Gear lightening -- 2nd Gear Crunch

The observation of a second gear crunch at relatively low miles may be
phenomenon of the 5 sp. gearbox, but I have a very clear memory of the crunch
in my first car -- a '62 Giulietta Sprint with who-knows how many miles when I
got it.

"Premature" syncho wear may be a 5 speed thing, but 2d gear synchro problems
-- in my sample of 1 -- predate the 5 speed.
