v6 water pumps

I have noticed a trend, on mine and a friend's car. Later Saleri water 
pumps are failing at 11k and 13K in two cases. Original OEM pumps lasted 
over 100K. That maker is now defunct.

So, it seems Saleri is the only show.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Friend has installed an electric h2o pump instead. Not cheap but moves lots 
of water. We'll see long run how it works out.
