Euro 105 air canister
In #663 Chris Sweetapple comments: " I think the long-nosed air filter
housing was used whenver it would physically fit, but AFAIK no
4-headlamp GTVs had them because the inner headlamp got in the way, and
no RHD cars with cooling system expansion tank had them, because that
was where they put the expansion tank."

Yes, I saw the 105 number, however, the Euro Alfetta GT (115 GTV?) uses
the long-nosed air canister. It also shows the expansion tank on the
left inside fender - same as the US Alfetta's / GTV's. I'm looking at a
photo of the engine bay (page 8) in the official Alfetta Engine workshop
manual (No. 2448 - 1977).
Note: Chris later comments that both the long-nosed and short-nosed
canisters take the 40 mm filter, except the Alfetta takes a 36 mm.
The reason I'm sort of nit-picking is that I have a short-nosed canister
(AR 105.48.08.010.06) and need a longer filter for it. The one I have is
14" (around 36 mm) and need the longer 16" (around 400 + mm). Mine is
one piece with metal and paper as opposed to the two piece fuzzy ones.
However, what I'd also like is the 'correct' Alfetta Euro snorkel
(long-nosed) canister (with filter). Just eyeballing my 'incorrect'
canister to the one in the Alfetta Engine book, the two appear to be the
same length (excluding the snorkel). Will admit the innards might be
different.
Anyone have an Alfetta Euro long-nosed air canister in excellent
condition for sale?
