bad runnin spider

Check both ends of the air hose from the air cleaner to the connector
on the passenger side of the valve cover. When loose, the engine will
accelerate, torque itself over, thus opening the hose. The engine dies, the torque
unwinds and the hose closes only to start the cycle over. Been there, had that
happen.
While in there, check all the hoses. And yes, a plugged fuel filter
can cause a power loss. It would not cost much to replace it and eliminate
that as a possible cause.
