A few days ago a fellow posted a problem getting the prop-shaft back
together, I think in the center....

I had this problem with the rear junction.

What I did was to make a ring of a width to fill the space between the
bearing shell and whatever was next, with a hole large enough to
accommodate the shaft inside, then split the ring across.  I put the ring
behind the shell, and shoved the sleeve over the shell, then removed the
split-ring.

(The problem, of course, is that relaxed, the bearing shell is larger than
the hole it must go into, and it is a bear to get it alinged to shove it
into the sleeve -- there are enough broken shells to testify to the
difficulty mechanics have getting it back together right...)
